PROBLEM
London’s living crisis is impacting many people, but some people still do not understand the gravity of the situation, how do we make them and future adults aware of what is going on?

SOLUTION
I present you with Reality Check, a board game designed to introduce the topic in a fun and innovative way. Aimed to engage people of any age, from kids to adults.

The game includes a board, six pawns, a dice, and two card decks: Fortune and Bomb. The most important element is money.
Each player starts with a fixed amount based on London’s minimum wage. Each lap represents one week, and the aim is to complete the month without running out of money. Players who run out of money are eliminated.
The youngest player starts by rolling the dice. Each square represents a house with specific instructions shown through symbols, explained in a key at the bottom of the board.
Landing on certain houses triggers actions, such as drawing a card or paying the bank. Players must pay rent every time they pass the Rent house.
The first player to reach the end of the month with money remaining wins. The game raises awareness of financial insecurity through play.
